Life in Sugar and Laura Dodimead are delighted to announce they will be heavily involve with Cake International & Squires International Kitchen’s Exhibition…

It’s the best time of the year… exhibition season has arrived and it starts with my favourite of all (I promise I’m not biased just because I work there hehe!)

2017 sees Squires International Kitchen celebrate its 31st year in the industry and they are hosting their amazing annual exhibition at The Maltings in Farnham Surrey on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th March.

From live demonstrations by star guests to inspirational designs in the Wedding Cake Showroom and Competition Hall, there is so much to see and do throughout the exhibition weekend. See an exclusive collection of stunning wedding cakes created by some of the UK’s top cake designers. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, are on the lookout for someone to make your cake or simply want to marvel at the creative talents of contemporary cake designers, this couture cake display is not to be missed.

Last year I contributed to the table of honour by making a 30th celebration cake including everything that I believe Squires Kitchen stands for.


This year I am honoured to be asked to demonstrate at the show over the weekend and have even been given my very own mini class on Saturday afternoon at Squire Kitchen School from 1.30-4.30

Laura will show you how to create a small and large hedgehog using a polystyrene egg shape as the base. You will model the face by hand before using royal icing to pipe the spikes. March doesn’t just welcome Squires International Kitchen’s exhibition it also hosts the first of three of Cake International’s exhibitions in Birmingham’s NEC on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th March.

The world renowned, much loved, and always anticipated Cake International – The Sugarcraft, Cake Decorating & Baking Show returns to NEC Birmingham for another spring extravaganza! Be astounded by the display in the competition area, take your seats to see industry experts teaching the newest Cake Art trends, and browse stands full of must-have baking and sugarcraft essentials! You’ll have a delicious day!

I Attended the show for the first time in November 2016 and entered the decorative exhibit competition and amazingly took home gold for my BFG model which left me speechless !

Since the show, Cake International’s amazing editor Melanie Underwood has featured my work in the magazine (including the front cover) and has now invited me to demonstrate in the enclosed theatre on Friday 17th at 2.30pm.
